The Batlló House

The Batlló House is a building designed by the architect Antonio Gaudí, the best representative of Catalan modernism, and it is located in the 43th of Paseig de Gràcia, the wide avenue that crosses the modernist district of Eixample, that lodges in addition to this building, the works of the modernist architects: the Ametller house, that is contiguous with the one of Gaudí, work of Puig i Cadafalch and the House Lleó Morera, work of Domènech i Montaner. The construction was made between years 1905 and 1907.

Like all the buildings of Gaudí, also the Batlló House separates totally from the traditional canons, and captive to the visitor by its original forms and the numerous details incorporated to the facade and inner spaces

Casa Milà

The Mila House, called popularly the Stone quarry, is the work of Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi and was constructed between 1906 and 1910 in the Catalan modernist style. It is located in 92th of Passeig de Gràcia.


All of its facade is made in natural stone, except for the upper part that uses is coverded by white tiles. The combination of the stone and these white tiles evokes a mountain covered by snows. In the roof, there are great stair exits and chimneys; the chinmneys are completely covered by bottle pieces and look like warrior heads covered by helments

In 1984 UNESCO declared Mila House patrimony of the Humanity
